You hear from many voices (Quee, Denny, Tom, Mack) but you don't hear from other characters.

This was one of them, such a good movie.

Most of them were unlikable to me. I'm betting had I read it when it first came out I would've felt otherwise. This being my first romance novel, I wasn't sure what to expect.

Lovd the characterizations in the book.

I have got to give 5 as this book has you gripped from the start, just did not want to put it down. Jill McCorkle is not insipid. Tory Bodeen has returned to her hometown of Progress, South Carolina, to face the fearsome memories of her childhood friend Hope's death and rebuild her life in a town that once betrayed her. It is sort of a collection of different stories that connect in some way in the end.

This is one of those books where you need to read the entire thing before you can fully appreciate how amazing it is. Tory can be bitchy too, slightly unpredictable and very self contained, understandable but she seemed to forget that other people grieved for the same person too. I read this for the Murder Most Foul square for.

Tory Bodeen had a pretty miserable childhood, growing up with a religiously fantatic father who physically beat her and a mother who didn't protect her. In fact, I didn't really love it until I got to the end. Even though Carolina Moon was published in 2000, the setting is a small Carolina town that invokes the feel and mood of small semi-rural towns all over.
