Solomon accumulated chariots and horses.

Now therefore give pledges, I pray thee, to my master the king of Assyria, and I will give thee two thousand horses, if thou be able on thy part to set riders upon them. And they went out, they and all their hosts with them, much people, even as the sand that [is] upon the sea shore in multitude, with horses and chariots very many. And they brought him on horses: and he was buried at Jerusalem with his fathers in the city of David.
And so to all the kings of the Hittites and of Syria they were exported by the king'smerchants." Chariot cities were built to stable horses.
"You shall surely set as king over you him who the Lord your God will choose...but he shall not multiply horses to himself or cause the people to return to Egypt in order to multiply horses..."(Deuteronomy 17:15a,16 AMP), "The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but deliverance and victory are of the Lord." all the storage cities that belonged to him, and the cities where chariots and horses were kept.
