Solomon accumulated chariots and horses.

Chronicles-2 9:25 And Solomon had four thousand stalls for horses and chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen; whom he bestowed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem. Joseph presented himself to him, threw his arms around him, and wept for a long time. And he said unto Jehoshaphat, Wilt thou go with me to battle to Ramothgilead? 16And the number of the armie of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them. And they brought him on horses: and he was buried at Jerusalem with his fathers in the city of David.

And so to all the kings of the Hittites and of Syria they were exported by the king'smerchants." Chariot cities were built to stable horses.
